Rich-Hall-Ed-08_1Rich Hall is an American comedian and writer. Part Cherokee, part cranky Southerner, part country singer. Rich is probably best known around these here parts as an outstanding guest on Q.I., Have I Got News For You, and Never mind The Buzzcocks.

Oh yeah, in 2000, he won the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe, in the guise of his own grizzled uncle, Otis Lee Crenshaw, the much-convicted country music singer. A grouchy deadpan comedy genius who looks like a Pearl Jam roadie, Rich is a master of absurdist irony. He’s widely believd to be the inspiration for Simpson’s character Moe Syzlak. Mr. Hall as nobody calls him, has sold out every show he ever played in Galway. Get those tickets early folks.

Town Hall Theatre, 8pm, €18

Rich Hall will also be apearing at Andrew Maxwell's Full Mooners...

This is the late night show that all others should aim to be. Already the proud owner of an epic reputation established at the London Comedy Store, FullMooners blends the kitsch and the comic to perfection. As Thriller pumps through the speakers, the lights dim and Maxwell strolls on to the stage, cloaked up and dangerous, posing before the projection of a moon. Howls ring out between performers and audience, heralding a truly modern variety show with singers, breakdancers, comedians and that delirious feeling and unique buzz you get from a show where just about anything might happen.

Are you a Full Mooner? Get ready to clap your hands, stomp your feet, put the howl on top!
This show will have the best line up of the festival, guaranteed!
