Charity Donkey Derby

Galway Comedy Festival is delighted to announce that in addition to a stellar comedy line up for this year’s festival, there will be other fun events to enjoy including a Charity Donkey Derby...

...which is being held in aid of The Donkey Sanctuary, in strict compliance with the Sanctuarys’ comprehensive ‘Donkey Derby Code of Practice’.

Ten brave comedians will be sweating in the sauna for the next few months as they try and make the 8 stone requirement for entry to this prestigious group one race. We reckon only five of them will make it.
This event will take place in a field we can’t direct you to at a time we can’t reveal. Keep a close eye on this Website and our media partners for further information.

What we can tell you is that It will be a fun event for both the audience and the donkeys and was confirmed only after approval last month, by the Donkey Sanctuary before inclusion in the Comedy Festivals’ programme.
