GALWAY COMEDY FESTIVAL (Sponsored by Smithwicks) Presents Political Cartoon Exhibit at The Townhall Theatre

The Galway Comedy Festival is proud to announce an exhibition of razor sharp political cartoons at The Townhall Theatre. The exhibition features wonderful pieces from award winning cartoonists and illustrators. Artists include international award winners and contributors to The Irish Times, The Independent, The Guardian, The Observer, Phoenix Magazine, The Sunday Tribune, Punch, The Wall Street Journal and Hot Press Magazine.

Visit the Townhall Theatre to view the works of Jon Berkeley, Jim Cogan, Graeme Keyes, Tom Halliday, Tom Mathews, Martyn Turner, Steve Best, David Rooney, Hunt Emerson, John McCrae and Martin Honeysett

Since Ben Franklin introduced the first political cartoons into print in 1754, they have become a highly effective satirical tool for publicly poking fun at the establishment and the world at large. The artists in this exhibition are widely celebrated in this field, so don’t miss the chance to catch this wonderful addition to the upcoming Galway Comedy Festival.

The exhibition opens at the Townhall Theatre on Thursday April 5th at 6pm and runs until Monday April 9th.
